We had the distinct pleasure in having a brief Q&A with the colorful and fun loving Mandie Manzano!

KIH: What is your first memory as an artist?

Mandie: I'd take my grandfathers shaving cream and I would spray it and smear it on the walls in the bathroom and draw in it. I must have been under 5 years old lol! That is one of my first memories drawing :) I've always been a doodler as long as I can remember.

KIH: What is your creative process?

Mandie: I get some inspiration and write, doodle, draw it down in my book. When I begin to work, I say a little prayer and put on some music or an audio book and then I start!

KIH: What was your first medium?

Mandie: Shaving cream haha no just kidding. Graphite and Charcoal

KIH: What is your favorite medium?

Mandie: Ink and water, acrylic, and digital

KIH: What is your favorite color right now?

Mandie: Red

KIH: What common threads do you find show up in your work?

Mandie: Lots of light and lots of color

KIH: Tell us about your first show!

Mandie: Chaotic! but very fun. I was very nervous and didn't have everything prepared as I should have. It was a huge learning experience and so now I know how to always have everything prepared in advanced and have a handy dandy checklist as well!

KIH: Where do you do most of your work?

Mandie: I take it everywhere with me so I can draw always. I am mostly drawing at home when I am comfy and under blankies
